"Who is wise? Someone who learns from everyone. Who is strong? Someone who overcomes their base instincts. Who is wealthy? Someone who is happy with their lot. Who is respected? Someone who respects others."

Tractate Pirkei Avos (Ethics of the Fathers, 4:1)

Capital Beyond Business™

For close to 30 years, Daniel Bijan Khezri is CEO, Chairman, board director and business owner of leading companies in tech, media, and sports as well as advisor to leading family offices and private equity investors.

At the age of 29, Bijan was one of the youngest FTSE-100 board directors ever. At the age of 50, he completed his PhD at the University of St. Gallen.

In the early 1990s, he started exploring his career path with the German Diplomatic Service in Paris and UCTAD’s International Trade Organization in Geneva before a traineeship with Morgan Guaranty Trust (JP Morgan) led him to a career in finance in London and then corporate leadership.

Since 1991, he has published in the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, The Journal of Commerce, The International Herald Tribune/New York Times, and Harvard Business Review (Selected Publications). He is the book author of ‘Governing Continuous Transformation’ (2022) and Generation Dubai: Exit, Voice, and Loyalty (2008).

With the firm belief that education and entrepreneurship are the critical pillars for balanced economic prosperity and sustainable growth, Bijan serves as a member of the Board of Governors of Albukhary International University, founded by the Albukhary family with Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus serving as Chancellor. Bottom-up entrepreneurship rather than top-down government intervention is the basis for prosperity and freedom.

Bijan studied law at Bonn University, is a graduate in international relations and economics of the Institut de Hautes Etudes Internationales (University of Geneva), and holds a PhD in strategy management from the University of St. Gallen. He is a member of the Foundation (Stiftungsrat) for the Promotion of Technology Management, Technology Policy, and Technology Transfer at the University St. Gallen.

He is the Founder and Chairman of the European Youth Conference in the European Parliament in 1991.

Bijan is an approved individual of the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority since 1995.
